Hello all! I’m James Daniels, a 22-year-old master’s student from Hertfordshire and now – a real-estate intern! I’ve now spent a week with Hallcroft Finance getting to know directors Adrian, Martyn, Raymond and Ian and learning about the development transaction and how deals are funded.

After studying Business and Finance at the University of York, I’m now coming to the end of my master’s degree in Real Estate at the University of Reading. Reading’s careers service has been fantastic over the last year and put me in touch with Hallcroft this summer.

Earlier this week it was great to get to know the directors and hear more about Hallcroft in their monthly board meeting. After a few one-on-one conversations, I am now working on a number of measurable specific tasks.

One key role of the past week has been exporting useful information to pass on to the directors with the goal of establishing new relationships and maintaining existing ones.

I was lucky enough to play golf with Adrian and Tony Fields on Friday morning. Even though the putter didn’t behave, it was great to chat in person over a bacon roll in the clubhouse afterwards. I’m excited to spend some time at Hallcroft over the coming weeks learning more about the mezzanine fund and some of the deals being worked on.
